Description

The Holm & Laue CalfExpert is an advanced automatic calf feeding system developed to provide precise, individual, and freshly prepared milk feeding while reducing daily labour requirements. The system automatically prepares each calf’s ration according to its individual feeding programme and can operate with either milk replacer or pasteurised whole milk.

Unlike systems that depend on a central supply of prepared milk, CalfExpert freshly mixes each portion when the calf requests it. Its continuously variable PowerMixer thoroughly mixes milk replacer, while QuickChange technology allows freshly prepared milk to reach the feeding station in approximately three seconds.

Feeding programmes can be individually adapted according to age, breed, health status and farm rearing objectives. Eight feeding curves with up to 16 turning points provide considerable flexibility, while gradual reductions in milk quantity and concentration support controlled weaning.

Hygiene is also highly automated. The HygieneStation cleans the milk hose through to the teat, and the complete milk system is cleaned several times per day. CalfExpert can work with two different cleaning agents, either alternating between them or combining alkaline and acid cleaning within a cleaning cycle.

For herd management, the 7-inch graphic display, Wi-Fi connectivity and CalfGuide app give farmers access to individual calf information, feeding histories, feeding curves, alarms and system notifications. This combination of automated feeding, monitoring, hygiene and data management makes CalfExpert a comprehensive calf-rearing solution for modern dairy farms.
