Safe and Efficient Milk Hygiene for Calves
Pasteurisation plays a vital role in protecting calves from harmful pathogens. Mastitis bacteria, often present in waste milk, can lead to serious illnesses in the calf pen. The Holm & Laue MilkTaxi offers a reliable and automated pasteurisation system that improves calf health and simplifies milk handling.
Pasteurisation Function
The MilkTaxi uses the batch method to heat milk to 63 °C for 35 minutes, effectively destroying up to 99.5 percent of harmful bacteria, including mastitis pathogens.
In addition to the standard programme, the MilkTaxi provides two alternative heat treatments at 60 °C for 60 or 70 minutes, giving farmers flexibility to choose what best fits their needs. Start times can be freely programmed, allowing the milk to be pasteurised automatically during the night so it is ready for feeding in the morning.
Automatic Cooling Function
Every MilkTaxi with pasteurisation includes a built-in water cooling system. This keeps milk fresh before or after pasteurisation until feeding time.
The cooling function is especially beneficial on farms using robotic milking systems. It automatically records the fill level and temperature of the milk and adjusts the cooling process accordingly. This ensures efficient energy use while maintaining milk quality.
Hot Water Heating
To reduce electricity usage, the MilkTaxi allows farms to connect hot water from biogas plants or heat recovery systems to the cooling jacket. This warms the calf milk without additional energy costs.
The MilkTaxi automatically measures and controls the temperature to ensure consistent and safe feeding results.
